STAR is a self-help support group that promotes independence through social and adapted recreational activities and community outreach education.
The mission of (STAR) is to enhance quality of life for individuals with disabilities through socialization, education and adapted recreation.
The group began in 1986 and today has more than 50 members. The group meets at 5:30 pm on the fourth Thursday of each month in the classroom at the Rehabilitation Center at Vidant Medical Center at 2100 Stantonsburg Road, in Greenville, NC.
